Wow - Where Has Time Gone?

Well hello there! It's been a long time, hasn't it?

I can't believe how fast time flies. Mikey & I are getting married in 345 days - that's less than 12 months! We got engaged 21 months before our planned wedding date and I can't even believe that it's going so fast.

We're trying to be very prepared for this wedding & really enjoy the process. We have our photographer, caterer, I have my wedding dress, we're working on invitations & thank you cards, we have the location & we're on our way. I am so excited!!

Everyone keeps saying we are so far ahead in planning & that we're going to be waiting around for our wedding but I feel like there is SOO much more to do! We need to get our wedding bands, we need to get a DJ & florist, we need to get tuxes, plan a honeymoon, get a cake, order invites, make thank you notes (yup, make!), ask our wedding party (officially), choose our menu, schedule hair/makeup appointments, register, figure out linens, wedding schedules - so much to do! I am very excited about it, though. I think it will be so much fun & Mikey is an EXTREMELY helpful groom!

I can't post pictures of my dress since Mikey can not see but I do have a couple pictures of the ballroom we'll be having the reception at - I think it's absolutely stunning.

This is the view of the ballroom as you walk in from the lounge/hors d'oeuvres area. It's very open & light. Our colors are ivory & black, I can't wait to see the ballroom all decked out, tables set up, beautiful arrangements on the table, its going to be absolutely BEE-EE-AY-YOU-TIFUL!

We're Engaged!

This is our blog. Ours meaning Mikey & Dara's. We're pretty boring, but we try to make things sound interesting. We have a lot of fun together.

So, on January 29th, 2010 - Mikey proposed to me with a bag of Cracker Jacks... and a ring. It was pretty cute. We had a great night with our families & the moment was just right. I thought his heart was gonna beat out of his chest. The ring was beautiful, the moment was perfect, and he is wonderful. (He thinks together we're two-derful, get it?? won = one?)

Anyways, a few weeks ago we went to get some free engagements shots done with Bella Photography. When we got back we were both SOO tired. We ended up trying to take a nap but we were unsuccessful.

Our first attempt at trying to sleep - but we were so tired, we were being silly.

Mikey finally almost started to sleep - but as you can see, I was not having any of that!

The pictures we got (not the ones above) turned out super cute & we ended up hiring Bella as our photographer, one wedding item crossed off the list! On to the next...
